Agnes Going born c. 1725 Henrico, Virginia

Going, alternate Goyne, Goen, and other variants. Her partner was unknown (possibly Collins ?), by 1742-3 she was in Trinity Parish, Louisa VA. On 9 Jan 1744 she was ordered to be beaten by the Louisa VA court for having an "illegitimate child" likely her son Moses; by 1757 she and her children were taken "under care" at the Cedar Creek Monthly Meeting (Society of Friends aka Quakers).

Agnes Agatha "Aggy" Going born c. 1750 Columbia, Georgia

Aggy (Agnes / Agatha) Going (variants) is the daughter of Elizabeth Mulatto and David Going Sr of Henrico VA. She married her cousin Moses Sr and they had a number of children. The family migrated to GA from VA ca 1787. In May 1847 her youngest son John H. Going, who had migrated to KY from GA before 1830, made petition for travel papers to settle the estate of his brother Dr Thomas Going in Claiborne MS. The petition which was witnessed and accepted by the court in KY stated that his father Moses Sr "had always been a free man of color and that his mother Agnes was an Indian by blood." Agnes had been required to register in 1819 in Columbia GA for certification as a FPC along with other family members.
