Albert Henry "Alvie" Vohs' father was Andrew William Vohs (1867 - 1956), born in Germany, and his mother was Anna Lenora Bunning (1887 - 1979), born in Mills County, Iowa. He had siblings Andrew (1927 - 1993) and Adolph. When Alvie, as he was known, was 10, he was living with his family in Oak, Iowa and in the 6th grade. Also in the household were his maternal grandmother, Mary Bunning, and Dave Ebert, a laborer on their farm. Dad was a farmer. He entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Then Alvie married Patricia Lucille Yates on October 26, 1952, and they had children Karen, Jeff, and Kathy. His wife, children, and seven grandchildren survived him. Described as a kind and gentle man, Alvie was active in his community and stayed with the same corporation until he retired.
