Ann Tinsley (Gillis) McMichael Feb 12, 1853 - Feb 24, 1930 Kentucky, United States

Annie Tinsley Gillis was born to Frank Gillis and Louisa Redmond Gillis on the 12 February 1853 in Anderson County Kentucky she was the oldest of nine children. Annie married John Wilford McMichael on the 21st of July 1868 at the age of fifteen and had her first child John Miles at the age of 16 born on the 15 of April 1869. She had a total of eleven children, the last one Sarah C (Katie) born on the 15 April, 1892 at the age of 39. Annie had to have been a very strong willed woman in her life time with all the hardships she was to endure in her life. She had to bury her husband John W. in 1909 after forty years of marriage and she being at the age of fifty six with no income had to live with her sons Cleo and then Leo later in her life. She had lost six of her eleven children by the end of 1914. William 1878, Stella around 1900, Wilford Burton 1906, murdered in Louisville, KY, Manzona 1910, Muzetta 1913, Clara E., 1914 and one know grandchild Annie Kinder age 18 in 1917. The last four months of her life she suffered with peritonitis with possible severe excruciating steady abdominal pain before she died on the 24th of February 1930, twelve days after her 77 birthday. Annie was buried next to John the very next day on Anderson City Road in Anderson County KY where she had lived most of her life.
