Anthony Steve Shupenko is the son of Anna Nawojczyk (1889-1952) and Wincenty "William" Szuplenko Shupenko (1883-1944). He was born on June 13, 1914 in Claremont, Sullivan, New Hampshire and had siblings Adolph Stanley (1917-2002), Michael Frank (1917-1940), John J (1919-1974), and Appolonia Lena Shupenko (1921-2006). He enlisted into the military on June 4, 1942 and served in the United States Army until his discharge date of September 30, 1945. Anthony married Helen Louise Brooks (1929-1981) on July 8, 1950 in Windsor, Vermont, USA. The couple later divorced on March 2, 1954. Anthony was living in Claremont, Sullivan County, New Hampshire, USA and on Janauary 15, 1990 he passed away there and is buried at Saint Marys Cemetery there.
