His fathers name was Eugene Viator. I don’t remember his mother’s name. He graduated from Kaplan HS at the age of 15 and moved to Lake Charles. He shorty joined the merchent marines. When he was 16yrs. old he joined the Navy. He volunteered to join the underwater demolition team in WW2. When the war ended they were headed to Tokyo beach to unmine it. In 1946 he married my mother Winnie Mae Thibodeaux and then went to Antarctica with Admiral Bird. They tested the frogman suits and met many penguins. After coming home he had 3 girls Peggy, myself and my sister Sherry. He was a wonderful father and a great friend to many, a grandfather that made me love him even more but he was a humble man. He often wondered why God took a young boy from a small town and allowed him to see the world. I’m a proud daughter and miss him so much.
