Anton Evangelos Pegis is the son of Evangelos Engulos Antonias Pegis (1886-1966) and Polixeni Palestine E. Pantelidis (1890-1989). He was born on August 31, 1917 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA and had two sisters, Mary Jane and Hope Pegis.
He grew up in Milwaukee and was a graduate of Bay View High School (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA).
