Aurea Negron-Collazo born Mar 14, 1939 Dallas, Texas, United States

Aurea Negrón-Collazo was the youngest child of Sergio Negrón-Hernandez a Barber-Hairdresser, and Delfina ( Fina ) Collazo-Vega both from Ponce, Puerto Rico. Spaniard and European Mediterranean descendants Aurea had four (4) siblings Sergio Negrón-Collazo. Dora Negrón-Collazo, Jorge Luis (Georgie) Negrón-Collazo and Adrian Negrón-Collazo. Officially in records Aurea was born March 14th, 1939 however according to her mother ,Delfina Collazo, Aurea was really born March 11th 1939. In the 1940 federal census, Auria (sic) was age 1 and living with her parents Sergio (43) and Delfina (34) in Machuelo Abajo, Ponce, Puerto Rico. Also in the household were siblings Sergio Jr. (12), Dora (9), Jorge (5), and Adriano (2.) Everyone had been born in Puerto Rico and father Sergio was a barber. Aurea was the sister-in-law of Rafael L. Torres ( married to Dora Negron-Collazo, Aurea’s oldest sister) a well known local TV news anchorman, journalist, and radio personality and media manager from Ponce and San Juan, Puerto Rico in the 1960s and 1970s (Channel 7 Rikavision and WKAQ Radio) and in the New York Hispanic community during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Rafael L. Torres was partially portrayed by actor Henry Darrow in the Movie “Life of Sin” ( 1978-1979), a film directed by Efraín López Neris starring Raul Julia, Míriam Colón and José Ferrer. Rafael L. Torres was the Best Man in Aurea’s marriage to Harry Bracer-Natal. Rafael L. Torres was Channel 7’s WRIK-Rikavision TV’s manager when the famous Cerro Maravilla murders incident happened at Channel 7’s main antennas and transmitters in the mountains of Ponce-Villalba.
