She married Morgan Smith Chauncey Jr. circa 1950 in Arlington, Arlington County, VA and they later divorced circa 1976 in Arlington. They had children Robert Lewis Chauncey, Thomas Smith Chauncey, and James Edward Chauncey. She married John Kenneth Aitcheson Jr. circa 1977 in Arlington, Arlington County, and they were married until John's death on December 26, 2012 in Alexandria, Fairfax County. Barbara Aicheson died at age 83 years old on March 26, 2018 in Alexandria, Fairfax County, VA, and was buried on April 4, 2018 at St. Mary's Cemetery 1000 S. Royal St., in Alexandria.
