Beverly was born to Harold Adam Hetzel (1896-1971) and Ida Amelia Becker (1895-1936). She had 3 sisters: one half-sister, Cecelia M. Hetzel Weatherly (1932 - 2011); Marion H. Hetzel McQueen(1926 - 2007); and Lorraine May Hetzel Bakken (1922-2000); and one brother Melvin (1921-1921). In the 1930 census, Beverly was age 1 and living with her parents, her sisters Lorraine and Marion, and a "helper" named Christie Ratcliff, age 38, in Olmsted Minnesota. Her father was working as a farmer. Beverly Hetzel married Edward Armbrust (1914 - 1985) on August 19th, 1950 in Olmstead Minnesota, and they had one child, Brenda Lee (1957-2010).
