I met Carlos at Glassboro State College in 1972. I was a Junior and had transferred to GSC from Camden County College. I met him in the cafeteria where all the Hispanics hanged out. He was a big teddy bear . He was loving and caring individual. When I got married he sent me my first Christmas card to Minot North Dakota. He would sometimes write to me too. I got a Christmas card in 1975 but the following year I did not get one and I began to wonder why... I found out thru a mutual friend that he had gotten killed in a car accident. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of this great big gentle Teddy bear. I pray his mom ( who I had met ) was able to feel comfort in knowing the love his son gave ... Emelina Torres. Class 1974
Carlos Escalona-Gei of Gurabo, Gurabo County, PR was born on October 31, 1931, and died at age 73 years old on December 15, 2004.
