David R. Walser, 62, of 1323 S. 12th St. died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at Pekin Hospital. Born April 30, 1935, in East Peoria to William and Cordelia Rowe Walser, he married Gladys Tucker on Dec. 31, 1982, in Pekin. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Cindy Ivey of Creve Coeur; two sons, David Walser Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., and Jeff Matejewski of Pekin; and one brother, Alfred of Oakland, Calif. One brother preceded him in death. He was a custodian at Morton High School for six years and later worked for Illinois Home Modernizing in Pekin for 15 years. He was a custodian for Illinois Machine and Tool Works in Pekin for the past 3½ years. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Full obit in the Peoria Journal Star - Oct. 5, 1997.
