NOW BELIEVED DEAD Staff-Sgt Douglas Roy Morcom, of Elwood, who was previously reported missing, believed prisoner of war, has now been reported missing believed deceased while a prisoner of war on or after July, 1942. Staff - Sgt Morcom joined up with the Royal Australian Engineers at Queenscliff in 1938 at the age of l8. He later volunteered for duty abroad with the special L force, and was sent to Rabaul.
