Edward Stanley Ziembicki was born on December 2, 1914 to parents Walter Ziembicki (born 1888) and "Katie" Anna Katherine Gourney (1889-1968). He had siblings Stanley (1910-1984), Joseph (1912-1972), Helen (1918-1977), Ann (1920-1998), and Cecelia Ziembicki (1923-1987).
