Elizabeth Etta (Hoyt) Hyzer Jan 25, 1833 - May 26, 1881 Shannon, Illinois, United States

Elizabeth Etta Hoyt was the daughter of Isaac and Maria Hoyt of New York. She married Peter Hyzer, who was also born in New York. There is conflicting information of their marriage date. Both 1848 and 1854 have been suggested. If the latter is correct, first daughter Hannah was born out of wedlock or to another mother. Regardless, Elizabeth raised her to womanhood according to all reports. Peter and Elizabeth moved to Carroll County, Illinois where they raised their family of three daughters and two sons. One daughter, whose name and date of birth are unknown, died when she was eleven months old. After Elizabeth's death in 1881, Peter remarried and had another two sons and daughter with Harriett Catherine Davis. Bio by: jane austin
