Ellen (Hutchins) Battersby of Melbourne, VIC Australia was born in 1858 in Hawthorn, City of Boroondara County to Daniel Shirley Hutchins and Caroline Francomb Hutchins. She had siblings Martha Ann (Hutchins) Ellis, Charles James Hutchins, Ernest Edmund Hutchins, and George Daniel Hutchins. She married Thomas Henry Battersby in 1879, and had children Isabel Ellen (Battersby) Chiron, William Ernest Battersby, David Charles Battersby, Thomas Henry Battersby, and Caroline May Battersby. Ellen Battersby died at age 87 years old on November 11, 1946 in Melbourne.
