Erle Chenault Galbraith is the child of Erle Chenault (1878-1957) and Edwin Forrest Galbraith (1879-1969). She was born on December 1, 1922 in Little Rock, Arkansas and had siblings Ophelia Frances Chenault Galbraith (1904-1993), Bethenia Helen (1908-1977), Edwin Forrest Galbraith Jr (1911-1989) and Courtney Galbraith (1915-1917).
On March 23, 1945 she married Asa "Al Jolson" Yoelson (1886-1950), the famous singer of the 1920's in Quartzite, Arizona. She was 22, and he was 56. They honeymooned at the Beverly Hills Hotel, see Al Jolson and Bride Erle Chenault Galbraith. Jolson met Erle in Little Rock, Arkansas while on a tour of army hospitals. They adopted two children together Asa Albert "Jolie" Jr (1947-2015) and Alicia Jolson (1949-1982).
After Al Jolson's death, she then eloped to Norman Krasana (1909-1984) an Academy Award winning movie producer on December 7, 1951 in Beverly Hills, California. They had three children together, Beth, Emily and David. See Al Jolson's Widow Weds Film Producer.
Erle Chenault Krasana passed away on January 11, 2004 in Century City, California and is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Los Angeles. Read more about her life and famous marriages at Influential Widow Twice Over .
