Floyd was born to Arthur H. and Carrie M. (Wright) Tuthill on March 9. l914 in Roanoke, Va. He was the third of seven(7) sons to be born to the Tuthill family. They moved to Arlington, Virginia where Arthur started building homes in Northern, Va. They continued to live in Arlington where the younger boys grew up and attended Washington Lee High School. Floyd being grown met and married Gertrude Anne Dulaney in Roanoke, Va. and they too migrated to Selby on the Bay in Maryland. Later they moved back to Falls Church, Va. where they raised their two children, Patricia Ann. (Franklin) and Robert Floyd Tuthill . Floyd worked hard at many jobs before becoming the proud owner and operator of several sea food restaurants, gas stations, and a pool room. He resided in Arlington until his retirement. After retiring he became a professional baseball scout for Baltimore and California ball clubs. He enjoyed sandlot baseball where his accomplishments were many as head coach. He later retired to Orange City, Florida and Front Royal, Va. Where he enjoyed his grandchildren and lived out his life.
