My grandfather was fit and nimble in his 90’s. He loved picking cherries when he visited us up in Washington State. He gave each of his grandchildren who visited him in California prisms from a lamp.
He’d share the family story of how when the first DeFrate went to California, the natives liked him and gave him a young bride. It was shocking to hear that the bride was around reeves years old, but times were different then.
He was a master mechanic and got mad when his son dissembled a car. He had the son reassemble it.
