George William Stayner was born in 1890 in Cheltenham, Australia, to Robert Stayner (1851 - 1894) and Christina Forrest (1856 - 1933). He had five siblings: Dinah, Elizabeth, Robert, Christina, and Graham Stayner. Twice married, George W. Stayner first married Marguerita Moylan (1889 - 1934) in 1923 in Victoria Australia. They had three sons, including Francis George and William Robert Thomas Stayner. George's second marriage was to Lily Rose Gallagher (1902 - 1982) on June 28th, 1937 in Victoria, Australia. They had two daughters, one of whom was Ivy Margaret Stayner who died in 2000. George died at the age of 81 on July 28th, 1972 in Cheltenham, Victoria, Australia.
