Giovanna (Jennie) Colagiacomi Rubio Amore was born August 20th, 1903 Naples, Italy. Died August 21st, 1982 in Staten Island New York. Jennie immigrated to the United States in 1915 settling in the West Brighton section of Staten Island. In 1945, she relocated to the Port Richmond section of Staten Island settling there until her passing in 1982. Jennie was my paternal grandmother. My grandmother was a business woman and a home maker. The Port Richmond home was a three story brick house with the family grocery store on the ground level (Rubio's). We had a kitchen in the back. My grandmother's cooking was the best. especially on Sundays the traditional Italian spaghetti dinner. Sundays was the family day. I remember every Sunday, she would start to cook the tomato sauce early in the morning because the sauce has to cook 5,6, or 7 hours. I miss that when on Sunday's, the stores were closed and it was family day. 41 years later and I still miss her. Her son Ralph was my father. Nonna, ti voglio sempre bene. Your grandson Ricky
