Grove S. Meeker, (Sr.) born 1759-1760 - died 1829, Westfield Twp., Morrow County, Ohio (according to ancestry family tree). Husband of Dolly Dart(e) Meeker, m. 2/9/1792 Richmond, Berkshire, Massachusetts. Father of Grove Meeker, (Jr.), Esther Mary Meeker Harris. William Meeker. Eliza Meeker. Brother of Forrest Meeker. Listed in the Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution, along with brother, Samuel. - NOTE: prior to the 1800 census , Grove and his brother Forrest, moved together with their families to Washington county, Pennsylvania. Before the 1810 Federal Census they moved to Bourbon county, Kentucky. In 1811 they moved to Delaware county Ohio, where they are recorded on property taxes and in the 1820 Federal Census. Of the census records available for Grove Meeker for the years of 1800 - Washington County PA - 1810 Bourbon county Kentucky - and 1820 Delaware county Ohio - it would indicate that Grove & Dorothy "Dolly" Meeker had about eight or more children. As follows: two sons born 1795 to 1800, three daughters born 1792 to 1800; 2 sons born 1800 to 1810; two daughters born 1800 to 1810; one daughter born 1810 to 1820. Some of their children are also in the Stratford Cemetery.
