Isaac Goldenberg of Geelong Australia was born in 1877, and died at age 68 years old in 1945 in Geelong.
Isaac Goldenberg was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1876 to Solomon and Toba (maiden name Frishtik) Goldenberg. He arrived with his parents and siblings - Meyer (Mark), Eva, Annetta (Annie), Doretta, Bella and Rachel in Australia in 1887 via Port said and Singapore. The family stayed in Sydney for a few days and then they lived in Melbourne until 1900. Isaac moved to Geelong in 1900 and married Rachel Freedman on 17th August, 1904 at the Geelong Synagogue. This was the first marriage in 15 years to be celebrated at the Geelong Synagogue. Isaac was naturalised on 8th January, 1915. Isaac was a Tailor and Mercer and had businesses "The Melbourne Tailoring Depot" and "Goldenberg, Field & Co" at 110 Little Malop Street, Geelong and 122 Little Malop Street, Geelong. Isaac and Rachel lived at "Beachmount" 20 Eastern Beach, Geelong. They had one child, a daughter Freda. Freda never married and she enlisted as a Telegraphist from April 1943 - December 1945 with the Royal Australian Navy during WW 11. Freda sold Beachmount and moved to 150 Hotham Street, Melbourne.
