Jack J Dowd Jan 26, 1925 - May 5, 1944 United States

When Jack was 18, he completed his draft card for WW2. He was living on State St in Jackson Michigan (the city in which he was born) and his next of kin were "Mr. and Mrs. John Dowd", living at the same address. Jack was working at Mechanical Products Company (stock room) on Mechanic St in Jackson. Jack was 5'11" and 160 pounds at the time. He had blue eyes, brown hair, and a "light" complexion, with no obvious physical characteristics that would aid in identifaction. Jack enlisted in the military on March 30, 1943 in Kalamazoo Michigan, during World War Two. His record stated that he was single, without dependents at the time, that he was born in Michigan, and that he was entering as a private. When he enlisted, Jack also stated that he had completed four years of high school, that he was "white" and a citizen of the United States. Jack was killed while serving in World War Two. According to a memorial inscription on the Aiea Loop Trail in Oahu Hawaii, the plane he was serving on took off from Hickam Field and crashed about 6 miles away.
