James Cochran Goldwire was born on September 19, 1923 in Suwannee County, Florida to parents James Offutt Goldwire and Mary Frances Goldwire. He had siblings Frances Eris Goldwire Yearty (1925-1995) and Ester Agnes Goldwire Coplen (1937-1980). He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Jim retired a Major from the U.S. Army Signal Corps. On September 9, 1945 he married Anne Elizabeth Chapman (1925–1968) in Jasper, Missouri, USA. They had a daughter together; Nancy Pamela Goldwire Bishop (1958-2010). He also was married to Billie Anne McDonald (1928-2013) and they had a daughter Anne Elizabeth “Beth” Goldwire Gentner (1946-2022). Jim was employed by Delta Airlines from 1946 until his retirement in 1983. He was also actively involved in numerous genealogical societies and a member of Delta Pioneers. On September 4, 1991, following complications from a hear attack, James Goldwire passed away in Clayton County, Georgia.
