People named Jason Vesper

The most important thing is family. And many times that family is a small or large group of friends. I met Jason in Ann Arbor's vibrant and dynamic hardcorepunk scene. He said his name was "Gump" and to please don't call him Jason. Gump was in bands, either playing drums (NAD SAT NATION) or singing (NO REASON WHY). He was good at both. Gump and I got into the nasty hard drug scene together, via a local celebrity who sang for an infamous band. Him and I learned all about a certain drug long before it was trending. From there things went from bad to worse. We both traded all our material possessions for a jail bed and prison jump suit. We had several charges slapped on us and we both went to SAI --boot camp for first time offenders. He went in the summer of 1997 and I went in the winter. We crossed paths in there but weren't serving to e together per se. When we were released, I stayed sober but Gump didn't. That same celebrity punkrock singer we had learned about drugs from a few years prior, was the one who delivered the smack to Gump that made him give up the ghost. Jason did a lot for me and many others. He always made us laugh when times were tough. He loved life and he definitely lived in the Culture of Life rather than the obscene Culture of Death that the mainstream media was and still is peddling. R.I.P. my friend.

Jason Keith Vesper of Nebraska was born on April 3, 1967, and died at age 40 years old on January 2, 2008.
