Of these, 3,145 people had died and 21,269 were left with mild to disabling paralysis. Nov 22, 1963 John F. Kennedy was assassinated. 1967: First microwave oven introduced to households by Amana. July 20, 1969: One Giant Leap For Mankind. First moon landing. 1989: Public commercial use of the Internet began with the connection of MCI Mail and Compuserve's email capabilities.
