I met Joanie in 6th grade at Bryant School and she and her family, Hans Carstens, had moved to Sioux City from Omaha. She attended North Junior and Central High School. Married her HS boyfriend, Jerry Hicks, and was married for over 50 years. Had three children: Barbara, Richard, and Nancy. Jerry is still alive and living in the home on Maplewood. She has a sister in Sioux City named Jackie.
Joan V Carstens of Omaha, Douglas County, NE was born on January 16, 1931, and died at age 70 years old on April 19, 2001.
