People named John Catranis

John George Catranis was my beloved father. His father was George John Catranis and his wife was Helena, they immigrated from Sparta, Greece. They lived in Brooklyn, New York and had 3 children. My father invented the " Catranis roller", used on artificial limbs(knees), enabling knees to bend. This was around 1944, World War 2 was ending and my dad worked for the military on artificial limbs. I am Joan Dickson Catranis and was born in 1944. I have three sisters, Elaine, Janet and Catherine Catranis and two brothers, Christopher and Peter Catranis.

John Catranis of Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, PA was born on August 16, 1896, and died at age 89 years old in March 1986.
