John Arthur Grellman born May 11, 1936

Moved back and forth from GA to Michigan as a child. After fathers death moved to GA to stay. Worked as a child helping farmers pick crops and cherries. Had paper routes. Worked in Kraft Foods cheese factory as a 15 year old. Arrived in GA but quit high school on second day after the Principal told him he couldn’t drive to school. She wouldn’t listen to him when he told her his Dad had died and he had to support his Mother and 4 small siblings. He later got his GED. He learned to install flooring. Worked at Coe and Payne in Atlanta. Married F. Janelle Parker. Drafted to Army. Had a daughter born at Fort Hood Texas named Lisa Marie. Sent to Korea for one year. Opened his own flooring business in Jonesboro, GA. Built rental duplexes and commercial buildings. Attended Zion Hill Baptist church in Jonesboro where he was a Deacon. Built a home in Hampton, GA.
