John T Rasimowicz was born October 1, 1924 in Miners Mills PA son to Andrew Anthony Rasimowicz (1889-1964) and Julia (Pelszyk) Rasimowicz (1893-1961). He had siblings Stella G (1917-2011), Stanley (1919-2010), Anna Julia (1921-2007), Thaddeous Stanley (1922-1927), Angelina, and Harriet Rasimowicz. He was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church of Tionesta, and was a Veteran WW II with the US Army in the 325th serving in the Pacific Theater. John was an active lifetime member of the VFW Post 8803 of Tidioute, PA. On April 12, 1979 he married Wilma "Willie" G Robbins (1924-2012). John and Willie enjoyed traveling and sightseeing and cherished their time together at their Tionesta home with family and friends. John worked for the Shell Oil Company for over 25 years at their Sewaren, NJ plant. During his time there, he held various positions and held the final postion of shift superintendent before retiring in 1986. After retiring, he spent time as a woodworker making fine furniture in his woodshop in Tionesta and taught himself the art of stain glass and enjoyed making glass windows, lamps, and other fun art pieces. John Rasimowicz passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Ocean Trail Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Southport, North Carolina.
