John Sahlin was born with hydrocephalus and was not expected to live much past birth. He beat those odds and although he was bullied and picked on for his handicaps, he was never known to hurt or harm another human being in his short, almost 53 years of life. John was an exceptional bowler and was known to be very kind, caring and giving to others. John and I were close friends since age 9 and it was my privilege to have known this very kind person throughout his life. He taught me kindness, acceptance and understanding of others. In my now 66 years of life, I must say that of the thousands of people I have met in my journey, I have never encountered a more kind and lovingly gifted person. I don't know how many persons will read this post; but, I hope that those few that do will believe by this testimony to his decency that such rare persons do exist and I believe represent our Lord's love in the human expression. Thank you John for allowing me to be your friend. I look forward to seeing you on the other side.
