John Joseph Solich Sr Apr 26, 1916 - Aug 1, 2002 Universal City, Texas

John Joseph Solich was born on April 26, 1916 in Kewanee, Henery County, Illinois, USA to parents Nicola Solic (1883-1917) and Katarina Gerbac (1889-1957). He had siblings Rosey Helen Solich (1909-1910), Steven Solich (1910-1910), Mary M. Solich (1912-2008), Josephine Rose Solich (1913-1995), Cathrine Mary Solich (1914-2003), and Nicholas Charles Solich (1917-1995). John's military career spanned over three decades, and he served in some of the most significant conflicts of the 20th century. He enlisted in the military on September 22, 1940, and began his service in the Air Corps.He was later transferred to Hawaii, where he spent the majority of his initial enlistment. Solich was discharged from active duty in 1944, but he re-enlisted on December 6, 1945 at the Columbus Army Air Field in Mississippi. Right before re-enlisting, he married Ruby Evelyn Triplett (1924-1997) on November 23, 1945 in Montgomery, Alabama, USA. The couple had multiple children together. Solich's military career saw him serving in three major conflicts: World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was discharged from active duty in 1970, after serving in the military for 30 years. After his retirement from the military, Solich continued to work in the aviation industry.
