Joseph A. Eustache was a great, self-made and accomplished family man. He was the youngest of three sons born of the non-marital relationship of Estimene Eustache (mother) and Dormeus Cadet (father) from the village of Lambert, on the outskirts of Milot, Haiti. He married Philomene Francia Belizaire, daughter of Lefranc Belizaire, a wealthy and respected landowner of Milot, Haiti. Their marriage produced seven live children, three boys and four girls, respectively, Pierre-Paul, Marlene, Harold, Lunie, Nicole (deceased), Henri and Jocelyne, all of whom later emigrated to the United States. Born in the impoverished village of Lambert on the outskirts of Milot in northern Haiti, Joseph (nicknamed: "Ame" pronounced "ah-may") was studious, industrious, and rose to the rank of Major to become an accomplished and highly respected career military commander from the late 1940's through the 1970's. Upon retiring from the military in Haiti, he immigrated to the U.S. where his children were already living. He became a U.S. citizen and lived in the U.S. for 20 years before his demise in January 2008. He left a great legacy of hard work, education, family pride, self-discipline, self-sacrifice, and faith.
