Joseph Paul Olejniczak was born on December 5th, 1918 in Buffalo, New York to Wincenty Leo "Vincent" Olejniczak (1888 - 1962) and Anna Nowak, born 1893. His father was born in New York and so was his mother. He had seven brothers: Stanley, born 1912; Henry, born 1914; Vincent Jr., born 1917; Richard, born 1922; Leonard, born 1926; Arthur, born 1925; and Victor, born 1928. A veteran of the United States Coast Artillery, Joseph entered in February of 1941 and was demobilized in June of 1945. Joseph never married nor did he have children. He was a lifelong resident of Buffalo, Erie County, New York, where he died at the age of 72.
