She was my great-grandmother. Born in Ohio, circa 1853, to James Robert McCoy and Hannah (West) McCoy. Married John Wesley Shaver.
The only information I have about that side of my family is through geneology research. The only "story" handed down is that she was a Native American descendent, possibly the Choctaw tribe.
I would love to learn more about her. If anyone has photos or information, please share.

Josephine Mc Coy of Loves Park, Winnebago County, Illinois was born on May 28, 1904, and died at age 79 years old in June 1983.
