Josephine Zadjel Windber, Pennsylvania, United States

Josephine was a county nurse beginning in the 1945 to 1950 period. She raised five children, one deaf. She started losing vision early in life. When I was about two,1964, she could make out my face. By 1966, she learned to feel faces. She had no studies or assistance with her blindness. I think she just adapted while losing vision. She continued to cook and clean the rest of her life. She made holiday meals and baked. She made Polish foods and pastries which everyone loved.
