Keith's parents were Clarence Leon Crowder (1896 - 1969) and Maggie Mae Smoot (1899 - 1975). He had siblings Robert, Melvin, Louis and Betty. In the 1930 federal census, Keith was age three and his name was listed as "William K" not "Keith William". He was living with his parents in Tennessee, Arkansas. Also in the household were Robert (age 12), Melvin (age 10), and LC (age 6). Father Leon was a laborer in a lumber mill. On his World War II draft card dated March 8 1946, Keith stated that he was 19 and born in Ivy Arkansas. He was residing in Malott, Okanogan county, Washington. Recently discharged from the US Navy, he was 5 feet 11 inches, weighed 160 pounds, had a "dark" complexion, black hair, and brown eyes. His next of kin was CL Crowder (his father). During World War II, Keith was in the US Navy. Keith married Phyllis Eva Berry (1927 - 2015) on February 1, 1957 in Okanogan Washington and they had five children: Rhonda, Randy, Rick, Ron, and Fateley.
