Kenneth was born in Placedo, Texas. His Father was Frank John Cervenka and his Mother was Leona Matilda Janacek Cervenka. He was the third of five children born to his parents. His siblings were Alvin Frank Cervenka, Madlyn Grace Cervenka Hays, Daniel Lloyd Cervenka and Robert Wayne Cervenka. As of August 2022, Daniel is the only surviving sibling. Ken entered into the United States Navy at the age of 17 and retired after 21 years as a Master Chief. He then finished college and became a police officer in Corpus Christi, Texas. He moved with his wife, Karen and their children to Needville, Texas in 1980 and joined the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department. He retired from the department in 2004 as a Seargent. He moved to Ellinger, Texas in 1996 with his wife, Karen Morse Cervenka. Ken had two children with his first wife, Deotta Lee Turner. They are Frank Richard Cervenka and Judy Lynne Cervenka. He married Karen Morse in December 1979. He adopted her two children, Jason Scott Cervenka and Donna Lynn Cervenka Plocek in 1980. In August 2005, Ken developed cancer and passed away on January 6, 2006 in Austin, Texas. He was cremated and his ashes were spread over the bay water in Rockport, Texas where he loved to fish.

Kenneth Reed Cervenka of Ellinger, Fayette County, Texas was born on February 12, 1937, and died at age 68 years old on January 5, 2006.
