He was married to Sigrid Ellevold (1858 -1902) His mother was from Valdres, Marit Engebretsdatter Lyseng, she first married a man, also from Valdres, and he bought the farm South Hong in Øier, Gudbrandsdalen, where they were living together for a while, but Marits husband drowned. Marit E. Lyseng Hong (Hong from the farm) now married Johannes Knutson Ourom (Hong), he was a neighbour , and he moved to the South Hong farm. They lived with Marits children, and they got their own children as well. One of their children was Knut J (Hong) Ourom, the father of among Bjarne Ourom. Johannes Knutson Ourom (Hong) died suddenly in 1860, and after a while Knut, his son was reared by the brother of Johannes, Erik Ourom at Tretten. Knut was born at Hong farm. He moved to Rendalen, where he was a teacher, in Øvre Rendal and lived there till he died in 1938. His wife Sigrid died in 1902.
