Lewis M Arquette
Actor. He was a member of the third generation of a Hollywood family of actors. His grandparents were the vaudeville team 'Arquette and Clark', also known as the 'Funny Hebrew and the Singing Soubrette'. He was the son of Cliff Arquette, a staple on Jack Paar's 'Tonight Show' and 'Hollywood Squares', and was himself the father of a generation of actors: Rosanna, Richmond, Patricia, Alexis and David Arquette. After graduating from Hollywood High School, he went to New York to study at Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio. He returned to Los Angeles in the 1970's and would go on to appear in dozens of television shows such as 'Alice', 'Lou Grant', 'Barney Miller', 'Dallas', 'St. Elsewhere', 'Rocky Road', 'ALF', 'Matlock', 'L.A. Law', 'Seinfeld' and 'Spawn'. From 1978 through 1981, he played J.D. Pickett on 'The Waltons'. His movie credits include 'The China Syndrome' (1979), 'Off the Wall' (1983), 'Just Between Friends' (1986), 'Tango & Cash' (1989), 'Sleep with Me' (1994), 'Waiting for Guffman' (1996), 'Little Nicky' and 'Best in Show' (both 2000). Lewis Arquette of Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon was born on November 15, 1904, and died at age 70 years old in June 1975.
