Lorenz Brauer Feb 21, 1906 - Sep 1976 Brookfield, Wisconsin

He died when I was one but oddly I remember building card houses in the front room of his house in Brookfield. I remember sitting on the floor with him. That sounds crazy and perhaps I created those memories from stories I had heard, but it seems very clear. I know from my father that he died peacefully in his sleep. I know from my father that he was in a Jazz Band and worked at a bank for many years. This part may be wrong but I thought he said he had extraordinary penmanship. I know he was adored by his siblings Mary and Gertrude and himself. He always wished I could have known him because he was such a kind and wonderful person. By everyones accounts he was just this amazingly beautiful soul. No one ever had a bad word about him. He is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery next to my grandma Marie Brauer under a tree. My father Lawrence Brauer is only maybe 100 yards away.
