LOYD was my father. I am his only biological child. He married my mother, Gloria Mae Knight. My mother had been married before she met my father. She had a daughter, Linda Mae Knight, born March 9 , 1948. Linda was my "big sister" and we were very close. My parents married in February of 1951. I was born on January 6, 1953, in Portland, Oregon. Loyd was born on October 11, 1921, in Portland, Oregon. His parents were Harry Earl Kenyon and Winnie Viola (Rambo) Kenyon. He had an older brother, Harry Earl Kenyon, Jr., born in 1913. He also had a sister, Viola Virginia Kenyon, born in 1916. Loyd grew up in Portland, Oregon,, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theatre throughout the War. During the War, my father had sent home his service pay to his parents, who saved it for him. Between his employment wages after the War, and his savings, Loyd was able to buy a small house in SE Portland. He also bought a small plot of land close to the Sandy River, in Wemme, Oregon, and he built a simple and rustic one room cabin. Dad loved to fish, so he enjoyed spending occasional weekends going fishing and enjoying the outdoors. I will continue my story here at a later date/
