Luther Moses Minter was born on January 29th, 1893 in Leatherwood, Virginia, to James Buchanan Minter (1861 - 1931) and Elizabeth Jane "Eliza" Eggleston (1865 - 1950). Both of his parents were born in Virginia. Luther had five siblings: three sisters, Sissie, Bonnie, and Annett, and two brothers, James and Peyton Minter.
Luther M. Minter, age 22, married Maggie Lee Kasey (1898 - 1971), age 19, on January 7th, 1915 in Rockingham, North Carolina. They had eleven children: Ruth, Willard, Luther, Adna, William, George, Cornelia, Thelma, Jo Ann, and two more daughters.
Luther Minter died on December 16th, 1982 in Martinsville, Virginia. He was 89 years old. Luther is buried in Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home & Burial Park in Martinsville, Virginia.
