Abducted within 100 metres of his house. He was last seen talking to a man who sat in his car and appeared to be asking Patrick for directions.
Found drowned on South Werribee Beach the next morning. Cause of death probably drowning. Patrick's Coads body was found naked, washed up on the retaining rocks at the South Werribee by a young family visiting the beach. The Coroners report stated that Patrick Coads body showed that he had a broken hip and extensive sea lice damage. Drowning was the cause of death though death was believed to be culpable homicide.
News papers at that date show little information. Police never found the person who was a man according to an eyewitness.
