Paul Arno Voigt was born on May 3, 1915 in Rosebud, Texas to parents Arno Friedrich Voigt (1880-1965) and Olga Augusta Klawitter (1887-1936). He had siblings Ervin Otto (1907-2001), Alfred Ernst (1909-1969), Elsie Irene (1911-2000), and Alice Olga Voigt (1923-2013).
He grew up in Rosebud, Falls, Texas, USA and moved to Chicago, Cook, Illinois, USA in 1930 as a teenager with his family.
Paul enlisted on June 15, 1942 in Chicago Illinois and served from July 15, 1942 until December 28, 1945 in either the Air Force or the Army.

Paul had a life-long passion for math and science and attended Yale University around his time serving in the U.S. Army. He obtained a teaching degree from the U of M and started his career as a math teacher in White Bear Lake. He then became involved in computer science at Control Data and helped create the Cytrol Corporation where he worked until his retirement.
Paul was active in the Kennel Club and served as Show Chairman. He personally owned Wellington Lhasa Apsos dogs.
The Paul Stuart Voigt: Obituary states that he was "most of all a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Few things gave him more joy than to attend his grandchildren's music and sports events. If you were in the mood to talk, you could always count on him to fill any time available".
