Peter Benfatto is the son of Massimo Benfatto (1886-1938) and Mary Miceli (1891-1928). He was born on January 11, 1920 in Brooklyn New York and had siblings Maria Regina (1910-1991), Marion (1913-1976), and Rocco Benafatto (born 1917). He also had a half brother John M Benfatto (1931-2017).
He joined the United States military in January of 1940. Peter married Nancy M Doto (1922-1997) on April 24, 1950 in New York City. The couple had two daughters, Mary Ann Benfatto (died in 1992) and Bernadette.
He was a World War II veteran and worked as a pressman.
