Richard Thomas Pasma is the son of Tjipke "Charles" Klases Pasma and Margaretha Meijering. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on April 28, 1918 and had a sister named Angeline Pasma (1921-).
He later resided in San Joaquin County, California and worked as a building contractor for 50 years and was also a volunteer firefighter for 22 years.
On February 18, 1942 he married Joan Cook (1917–2009) in Seattle, WA. Together the couple had six children: 5 girls and one boy including Janice, Sharon, and Cynthia.
In his free time, Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, reading, bird watching and cooking.
Richard Thomas Pasma passed away on January 9, 2006 in Manteca, CA.
Richard Thomas Pasma was born on June 4, 1920, and died at age 82 years old on August 30, 2002. Richard Pasma was buried at Riverside National Cemetery
