Robert was born in 1783 in Virginia.
He married Martha M. Ladd on August 9, 1817 near Cartersville in Goochland County, Virginia.
They lived there until 1818 when they moved to Madison County, Alabama where they remained for the next 5 years.
In 1823, they moved near Nashville, Tennessee in Davidson County.
They left their home during Hood’s Raid in December 1864. Upon their return the entire contents, including the family Bible, had been destroyed.
Robert served as a Private under Captain Archer in the Virginia Vols commanded by ?? in the War of 1812 for 6 months. He volunteered near Richmond, Virginia for 6 months. He took the place of Robert McBride, his brother in law, and served 3 months. Service terminating by reason of discharge at or near Richmond, Virginia.
He stood 5’9” with high, dark hair, blue eyes, and light complexion.
Service records for Robert’s bounty land warrant stated that Robert Blunkall No. 1007 for 160 acres. He sold the land to broker Thomas M??? in Nashville, Tennessee.
Robert had a sister, Polly Blunkall, who was married to Robert A. McBride on January 11, 1803 in Goochland County, Virginia.
Robert’s wife, Martha M. Ladd, was the daughter of John Ladd (b. 1775-77 in Virginia.
Robert and Martha had 3 children.
