Robert Frederick Pothan was born in May 1919 in Walsall, England United Kingdom to Robert Frederick Pothan and Eliza (Nixon) Pothan, and had siblings Gwendoline Hilda Stokes, Norah Edith Pothan, and Norman George Pothan. Robert Pothan died at age 26 years old on June 10, 1945 at Riam Road, Mile 5 in Miri Sarawak, Malaysia, and was buried at Singapore Memorial Column 351. (No known grave).
