Rolland George Rees was the son of George Joseph Rees and Hattie M Clasen Rees. He was born on November 22, 1924 and had a sister Ardelle Johanna Reese Kerr Campos (1917-2006). He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and was a graduate of The Ohio State University. On August 4, 1957 he married Mary Louise Cook (1928–) in Gaston, NC. Together they had daughters Beth and Heidi. Mr. Rees taught in the Wickliffe City Schools and was Principal of Mapledale Elementary School from 1964 through to the school's closing in 1982. Mr. Rees is a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Mentor for 23 years, and served on the Board of Trustees. He passed away at the age of 83 on January 6, 2008 in Mentor, Ohio.
